French Creek Council of Governments (COG) will host a Tire Recycling event on Saturday, September 21 from 8am to Noon at the Crawford County Fairgrounds. Open to Crawford County residents only. Small truck and car tires – no rims- will be accepted. Cost is $2/tire, limit 12 tires per vehicle. Driver’s license or other proof of residency required. Use the Gate #1 entrance to the Fairgrounds. East Mead VFD Auxiliary will be holding a Rummage Sale from 8am to 6pm at the East Mead Vol. Fire Hall on Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21 (bag day). Cans For Wishes will be hosting their September Drop Off on Sunday, September 22 from 1pm-5pm. Please gather up your metal recyclables, old appliances, junk car parts, and aluminum cans and bring them to 753 Euclid Ave Saegertown. Volunteers will be there to unload you and a roll off will be on site provided by Lincoln Recycling. To date, Cans For Wishes has raised over $171,000 for the Make A Wish Foundation and has granted 37 wishes to local children with critical illnesses.
